Biography
On April 1, 1982 I became a member of the Association of Amateur radio operators. My interest was piqued by listening to the 27Mc. However, I found limited that after I had read several books about amateur radio.
The hobby offers much more, including the self-construction of a transmitter / receiver, but also antennas. Because I have no electronic background, I decided to limit myself to listen to it.
My first receiver was a Century 21D (Löwe SRX30D), with digital readout. I used years to a time of short circuit. The reading was deceased and repair was not possible. But recently (March 8, 2016) I own another similar receiver that was offered on eBay and make good use of. Ultimately, there is the hobby yet started. My second receiver is a Racal 217D, which sometimes turned on day and night. I am very satisfied!
The antenna is a folded dipole 38 meters long feed with an open line.
The Internet is the solution to answer certain questions. I'll get there a lot of items from there to be able to do my advantage.
Incidentally, I now spend more time on the hobby because I went by 010116 retire. I have previously found a place in the attic where I am all the post. Between 1982 and now I listened at intervals to the receiver, most of the time was consumed by my work and family with the associated obligations.
I did notice that there are many changes in the hobby during all those years in between, the possibilities are limitless and your computer plays have a central role. Fortunately, the computer has no secrets for me, that helps.
I now take advantage of eQSL.cc does not mean that I am not going to send QSL cards more. I think it's personal, and that's what counts.
In contrast to the use of the computer I am a lover of old tube receivers. My last purchase (February 2014) a Collins R-390a receiver that looks like new and works as such. The first hours listening astounded me. The words of praise that were written earlier about this receiver I can confirm now. It is an excellent receiver I have a lot of fun to go do.
