QTH is 5km east of Lake Huron shoreline on 2 acres in country. Pictures on QRZ.com.
XYL is Linda and no kids. Retired from career as environmental microbiologist (Ph.D.) and teaching Contaminated Soil Remediation at the University of Calgary (1996-2006).
Now as a semi-retirement business I am "Dr. Fix-it" providing small and major appliance and electronics repair and home maintenance services.

I like DXing and Contesting on HF bands - CW, SSB, and RTTY.

Currently have worked DXCC on all bands from 160m-10m. Have DXCC 160m #2,567.
Focus on 160m DX with 112 confirmed and 119 worked (January 2014). Use temporary Beverages facing Japan, Europe, South America and a BOG (Beverage on Ground) facing South Pacific and California. No amp until January 2016, so all worked with 100W....love the challenge of Top Band!

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

Antenna Farm: 5-band Hexxbeam (DX Engineering); 80 Zepp for 160m-30m; 80m full wave delta-loop for 80m and 40m; GAP Voyager Vertical for 160-8-40-20m (backup vertical).
New (2016) 30m full wave delta loop.

DX Code Of Conduct

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
