Biography

I'm Ed Sherlock, originally licensed on October 15,1969 as WB6LDR, then WB7UTL in Kirkland WA, then N6KIV after moving back to CA, and now I hold K6ESS, a vanity call. My Tech+ license went to General when I passed 13 WPM code. I was a General for the 30 minutes it took to pass the Advanced test, got a real Advanced license with 13 WPM code, and in 2002, upgraded to Amateur Extra. I am active on VHF and UHF, and on 80-6 Meter SSB and FT8 as my schedule allows.

I retired after 45 years designing, programming, and integrating Automatic Test Equipment for aircraft and missiles in the aerospace industry.

I had a wonderful rescue dog Moose, a Black Lab/Pit mix, and he was very special to me. He crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on January 27, 2022. He was a good boy!

With five kids and 7 G-kids, and a great new Great-Grandson as of 5-23-2021, I am on the road quite a bit. In May 2018, I re-started life in Sacramento, CA by moving from the Ol' Pueblo (Tucson AZ). Family, water, stuff that grows (NOT cactus or rocks), and grass for Moose, what could be better?
