Biography

I got started in radios in 1971. Gary WA5FWC taught me alot about radios and antennas. I left the radio hobby in 1980 because I went to school and then started working. In 2023 I decided to get back into the hobby and got restarted in April 2023.
Installing the 4-element quad made things easier on 10 meters. My quad is up 20 meters, and my location is 65 miles northeast of Houston Texas.
I enjoy muscle cars and I own a 1967 Pontiac GTO. Auto racing is a big part of my life. At the beginning I drag raced on the streets in the Dallas & Ft Worth area. I moved on to organized "dirt" racing circle track in north Texas for many years. I eventually moved up to asphalt circle track racing and was a crew chief in NASCAR for 3 years.
I am retired from racing now. It was alot of fun but very hard on the body.
Now I am working to build up my rig so I can enjoy the radio waves.

Equipment

Yaesu FT710, M-90 mic, 10 meter 4 element quad up 20 meters.
