Biography
Hello, thanks for visiting this site, the reason might be that we recently made a QSO?
Anyhow I am john, PE1FZK, 56 years old, maried and having two lovely daughters.
I am living in the south-eastern part of the Netherland (close to the German border) in a little village called "Haps".
My profession is "Pricipal Test Engineer", working for the Semi-conductor company NXP in Nijmegen the Netherlands.
For more information about my profession see my LinkedIn profile.
From dec 1980 onwards i am enjoying HAM radio.Untill June 2008 i was only QRV on 2mtrs, but than i bought a good old FT990, made a homebrew magnetic loop for 20mtrs, and was qrv on HF.
Hereafter Ibought a G5RV junior and installed it in my attic. This antenna is mainly used for the 20 and 40mtrs band.
I have also put a Fritzel FB13 dipole on my attic, this mainly for the 20/15 and 10 mtr band.
Most of the time i am qrv in one of my favorite digital modes (PSK,RTTY or JT65).
By means of the DM780/JT65-HF software, and DX-Lab Commander for controlling my rig, (FT990 ROM 1.2) i make QSO's in PSK , JT65 and RTTY.
It is amazing to seewhere my signal has been "heard" , a nice overview can be created by means of using PSKReporter.
Hope to see your call on my waterfall soon!!
Finally enjoy our hobby.
73 de John
