Licensed in 1959 at age 14 as KN4SAO Novice Class. Upgraded to General as K4SAO in June 1960. Later upgraded to Advanced Class and finally to Amateur Extra Class. Obtained FCC Radiotelephone 3rd Class. Upgraded to 2nd Class Radiotelephone. Upgraded to First Class Radiotelephone. Obtained 3rd Class Radiotelegraph License. Upgraded to 2nd Class Radiotelegraph with Radar Endorsement. Past member of Society of Broadcast Engineers, National Association of Radio Telecommunications, National Association of Business and Educational Radio. Obtained Amateur call W4ETV.
