Biography

SWL since early 1980's while in the military and stationed overseas as I always wanted to stay current in world events. The 80's was a boom for international shortwave broadcasts and I enjoyed listening to as many as I could pick up. My very first shortwave receiver was a "Panasonic RF-B300", since then I have owned the following receivers at one time or another: Kenwood R1000, JRC NRD-515, Grundig Satellit 650, Yaesu FRG-8800, Drake SW2, Palstar R30 and R30A,Icom IC-R75, JRC NRD-345,Alinco DX-R8T, Drake SW8. I was absent from the hobby for about 10 yrs. and became active again within the past 3 yrs. While most of the International broadcast stations no longer exist, I still enjoy the few that are listenable and am more of a SSB amateur ham band listener.

Equipment

JRC NRD-345 Receiver, Icom IC-R75 Receiver, West Mountain Radio CLRdsp Filter, MFJ-956 passive antenna tuner and a Palstar SP30B Speaker. Using a 90 Ft. long wire across length of roof top. Antenna is off-center fed to coax through attic to Listening Shack. Antenna works quite well on all bands when combined with antenna tuner and Clear DSP filter.

DX Code Of Conduct

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
